Resolution by JB Slimp

Athlete development, read in full

See the athlete in full resolution.

Most athletes get measured. Few get understood.

I read an athlete through their data, the way they naturally move, and the pressure they carry, then translate it into one clear picture a coach, a player, or a parent can use.

The belief

The number is never the athlete.

A stat line is the first sentence of the story. Resolution is the rest of it: what the data shows, how the athlete moves, and what to do next.

How I read an athlete

Three lenses. One clear picture.

01

Signal

The data, in its proper place. Testing, video, and sensor measurements, gathered carefully and never mistaken for the whole athlete.

02

Signature

How an athlete naturally organizes movement. Motor Preferences describe the pattern underneath the swing, the throw, and the first step.

03

Translation

Plain language a coach, a player, or a parent can use this week. The part that turns insight into the next rep, and into steadier footing under pressure for the athlete and the people behind her.

Motor Preferences is the work of its researchers and teachers. My part is the translation and application, and the fusion with data.

The mental side

The game inside the game.

Elite sport asks a young athlete to perform under a kind of pressure most adults never face. Resolution reads that pressure as carefully as it reads the swing, for the athlete and for the people standing behind her.

For players

Carrying the weight of it

The slump, the comparison, the recruiting clock, the bad inning that follows you home. Plain-language tools for the pressure that comes with being good.

  • Performing when it matters most
  • Getting through slumps and setbacks
  • Routines that hold up under pressure

For parents

Being the steady one

Parents carry their own pressure, and athletes feel it. Practical guidance on how to support a young athlete without adding to the load.

  • What your athlete needs before, during, and after a game
  • Reading what's underneath the behavior
  • Supporting without adding pressure

Mindset education and performance coaching, not therapy or clinical care. When an athlete needs more than that, I'll say so.

For coaches

The hardest part of coaching isn't the game.

Playing time, parents, roster decisions, and a long season with a lot of people watching. I consult with travel ball coaches and program directors on all of it, drawing on twenty-five years of doing the work.

Players get a read. Parents get clarity. Coaches get a process they can stand behind.

  • A clear philosophy before the season
  • Decisions grounded in the athlete
  • A way to explain it to athletes and parents
  • A record you can stand behind

The artist who reads athletes

I'm JB Slimp.

Twenty-five years coaching softball, more than twenty of them leading a program that has developed thousands of athletes. A Kinesiology background from UT Austin. A photographer's habit of looking twice.

I read athletes through data and movement, then translate what I see into something a coach, a player, or a parent can use. I use AI to move quickly and keep the complexity readable. The judgment and the eye stay human.
